Keyboard is an input device used to type numbers and text into
a cellphone, laptop or operating system of a computer. Following are
the two types of keyboards:<br>

<li>T9 Keyboard</li>
<li>QWERTY Keyboard</li>
</ol>
<h3><a name="T9_Keyboard"></a>T9 Keyboard</h3>
T9 stands for text on 9 keys. A T9 keyboard is the replacement for
QWERTY style keyboard. Mobile phones with T9 keyboard have 9 large size
keys. While using a T9 keyboard, users don't have to tap on the exact
alphabet, instead they will have to tap on the button that has the
desired alphabet.<br>

The <a href="Predictive%20Texting.html">predictive texting</a> in a T9 keyboard makes SMS messaging easier as
it reduces the multiple tapping problems in the keyboard. <br>

<h3><a name="QWERTY_Keyboard"></a>QWERTY
Keyboard</h3>
QWERTY keyboard is just like the regular keyboard of personal
computers. It is termed as a QWERTY keyboard because the first six
letter keys on the top row spell QWERTY. This type of keyboard was
designed in the early 1870s to optimize the typing speed on
typewriters to prevent jamming. Many cellphones these days come with a
QWERTY keyboard as it makes typing easier and faster in comparison to
T9 keyboard.<br>
