Global System for Mobile Communications (EGSM) is an extension of
GSM-900 for covering larger frequency range in Europe. It has
880-915MHz (uplink) and 925-960MHz (downlink) specifications. The EGSM
network provides better coverage and reduced "busy network" messages to
the cellphone user. The cellphones with EGSM also support original GSM
900 band. Most of the newer phone models with GSM900 support EGSM.<br></body></html>
