<body><h1><a name="Touchscreen"></a>Touchscreen</h1>Touchscreen
is an electronic display screen that is sensitive to pressure and users
can interact with the device by touching the icons on the screen by a
finger or an object like stylus. Touchscreens are of two types:<br><ol><li>Resistive</li><li>Capacitive</li></ol><h2><a name="Resistive_Touchscreen"></a>Resistive Touchscreen</h2>A
resistive touchscreen has several layers separated by a
narrow gap. When the user touches the surface of the display with a
stylus or finger, layers touch each other and the electrical circuit is
completed. This on the other hand tells the device where the user is
touching it and the command to process. Because the layers are
separated by thin spaces in a resistive touchscreen, user will have to
apply more pressure to operate the phone.<br><br>See Also<br><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span><br><a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FResistive_touchscreen&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFrqEzftNKcRxcnye8uztXEVwLo5Xs9mBw">Resistive Touchscreen</a><br><br><h2><a name="Capacitive_Touchscreen"></a>Capacitive Touchscreen</h2>Capacitive
touchscreen is coated with a material that stores electrical charges.
When the user touches the screen panel lightly, circuit gets completed
and information is send for processing. A capacitive touchscreen is
different from resistive touchscreen because it is more sensitive and
can only be controlled by fingers. This screen type also has high
clarity in comparison to resistive touchscreen.<br><br>See Also<br><br><a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fgps.about.com%2Fod%2Fglossary%2Fg%2Fcapacitive_touchscreen.htm&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFrqEzf1xAc3s1pAWv4L9Zru04rNrLr82g">Capacitive Touchscreen</a><br><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; text-align: left;"><b><a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fgps.about.com%2Fod%2Fglossary%2Fg%2Fcapacitive_touchscreen.htm&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFrqEzf1xAc3s1pAWv4L9Zru04rNrLr82g" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 204); text-decoration: underline;"></a></b></span></span></body></html>
