cellphone user to stay connected to the Internet. The data gets delivered at a
rate of around 56kbits/sec in GPRS network. The technology also allows the
mobile phone users to get access to applications that were unavailable on <a href="file:///D:%5CSmriti%5CHelp%20Text%5CGSM.html">GSM</a> network due to speed
limitation. Blackberry emails and <a href="file:///D:%5CSmriti%5CHelp%20Text%5CMMS.html">MMS</a> can also be sent through
GPRS.<br>

In GPRS, a single piece of information is divided into small packets. If the
user is sending an e-mail, it will be divided into packets. Each packet will
take the shortest route within the network to reach the destination. <br>

GPRS is better &amp; cheaper than the circuit switching technology because the
users are charged only for the total amount of data, which is being transported
over the network. Whereas, in circuit switching, user has to pay the charges
even if he is in an idle state.<br>
