The data gets delivered at arate of around 56kbits/sec in GPRS network. The technology also allows themobile phone users to get access to applications that were unavailable on <a href="file:///D:%5CSmriti%5CHelp%20Text%5CGSM.html">GSM</a> network due to speedlimitation. Blackberry emails and <a href="file:///D:%5CSmriti%5CHelp%20Text%5CMMS.html">MMS</a> can also be sent throughGPRS.<br><br>In GPRS, a single piece of information is divided into small packets. If theuser is sending an e-mail, it will be divided into packets. Each packet willtake the shortest route within the network to reach the destination. <br><br>GPRS is better & cheaper than the circuit switching technology because theusers are charged only for the total amount of data, which is being transportedover the network. Whereas, in circuit switching, user has to pay the chargeseven if he is in an idle state.<br><comment title="[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]" xmlns="http://disruptive-innovations.com/zoo/nvu"><img src="chrome://editor/content/images/tag-comment.gif"><!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--></comment>See Also</p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-family: Arial,Verdana,sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; text-align: left;"><p><a href="http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FGeneral_Packet_Radio_Service&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFrqEzckvZlYxirempOduwF67CK7ngHFqg" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 204); text-decoration: underline;">General Packet Radio Service</a></p></span></span></body></html>
